XoXo, BOOK WORM_98

Run by Gregg Olsen – review

XoXo, BOOK WORM_98: 'Scary, brilliant, ruthless, moving, unique, spectacular – Run is one heck of a book!'

What if you've spent your whole life on the run? What if the reason that you're running has always been a lie? What if you're the reason for the lie? What if you're the hunted?

Meet Rylee. Don't worry – that's not her real name so you won't be held liable – nor will you ever know it. She's blonde. For now, at least. If you see her again in a month, maybe two later, you wouldn't recognise her. And that's the whole idea. Her life is lived in the shadows.

And now, it's time to come out.

Father murdered, mother missing, little brother depending on her – Rylee is facing the bold bad world without the sliver of family she had. No money, no shelter, just the clothes on their backs and no allies. All at the age of sixteen.

Until she finds a way into her mother's bank account. And her life is turned upside down. *Spoiler alert.* The man who murdered her stepfather, who has kidnapped her mother, and made her world do a 360° off course, is her biological father, who had kidnapped and raped her mother all those years ago.

And he wants just one thing. Rylee.

The beginning was a bit slow – but within a few chapters I found it very hard to look up from the world I was vicariously living in. I wouldn't know how to describe the ending. Or Rylee. It (and she). was. so. unexpected. I finished the entire thing in one reading! It was such a boat–load of adrenaline!

Throughout the book I kept asking myself the question: can the hunted ever really become the hunter? Maybe you will too – READ IT!

Scary, brilliant, ruthless, moving, unique, spectacular – Run is one heck of a book!
