Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover – review

Bekkareads 'Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster, this book made me laugh so much, and I spent at least an hour manically ugly crying'

Maybe Someday is the kind of book that you read for several consecutive hours and walk around the house with it, firmly attached to your hand. I finished this book the same day I bought it and only put it down for food intervals!

Maybe Someday is a dual narrative story from the perspective of 22 yr old Sydney, a musically talented, fun loving girl who seemingly has the perfect life until she discovers her boyfriend has been sleeping with her best friend/roommate leaving her devastated and alone, with no where to go other than the arms of the other narrator, a sexy musician named Ridge. Sydney first discovered Ridge playing the guitar on his balcony and she became enchanted by his music. Ridge sees her singing her made up lyrics to his songs, and a bond instantly forms, they begin to write music together and it doesn't take long for their connection to go further than just music.

Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster, this book made me laugh so much, and I spent at least an hour manically ugly crying. The thing that I love about this story is how completely selfless and good both the characters are, I honestly cannot fault either one and that is a very rare thing! Ridge and Sydney have an instant connection but they have to fight it for the sake of Maggie, Ridge's girlfriend of 5 years, and although I was rooting for Sydney from the start there is something so beautiful about Maggie that it is just impossible not to love her too and trust me, it leaves you so conflicted that you want to scream half the time because you just can't see a way out.
By far the best thing about this book is that throughout it Sydney and Ridge write these amazing songs THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY LISTEN TO. Yes that's right this book has a soundtrack. The songs are seriously fantastic I could listen to the soundtrack on repeat, i just find it so great that you can be listening to the songs coming to life as you are reading!

Please pick up this book and give it a read it's definitely worth your time!
