Louise Rennison is without a doubt the queen of comedy! Her books never fail to make me smile and laugh. Private reading at school had become somewhat challenging as I couldn't stop myself laughing – luckily I sit at the back of the class or I think my dramatic clutching of my stomach and leaning over my desk would have caused a bit of a stir in the usually calm classroom. Don't get me wrong, it was an epic addition to Tallulah Casey's hilarious adventures but my ribs are glad of the rest!

In this term Tallulah Casey is thrust into yet more unpredictable situations with the Tree Sisters, Woolfe Academy boys, the lunatic Dobbin's, Ruby as well as the Hinchcliff brothers bad boys of Skipley. Although this year determined to be more mature and to not make too much of a scene after the accidental nose-licking, Moore snogging incidents of previous terms with Cain and the apparent tiny girlfriend of charming Charlie that left Tallulah very confused and upset. So, set with new rules she walks with her head held high into Dother Hall, the Theatre of Dreams. Before she's even stepped through the grand doors she is a target of the dreaded Dr Lightowler, who for some unapparent reason has a problem with our favourite comedy character.

As Tallulah gets back into the college life she finds herself drawn to Charlie more yet wondering about Cain – is she ready to tame a wild boy? Can Tallulah find the courage to continue even when Cain announces (to what seem like the whole of Skipley) that they kissed, nearly losing Charlie forever? The girls tumble through the term with clown classes, horse dances, drumming sessions and a potting shed incident. Wherever Tallulah takes her Irish dancing legs you can be sure to get a lot of hilarious drama. So if you are a fan of girly comedy I would absolutely recommend this book!
