Sleepovers by Jacqueline Wilson

I like this book because it is about a bunch of girls who have sleepovers for their birthdays. There is a girl called Chloe who is really mean to another girl called Daisy. Daisy invites Chloe around with the rest of the group for a sleepover on her birthday. But Chloe wets the bed; at first it is really funny. To sum it up I think that you should read it over the summer holidays because it is very funny. 5/5 stars.

The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton

I suggest you read this book for a variety of reasons:
1. There are lots of adventures.
2. The awesome Faraway Tree.
3. It is very funny.
I would give this book 5/5 stars.

Minecraft by Egmont UK Ltd

At first I thought I wasn't going to like this book, and it would be rubbish and boring. However, I found it awesome and learned a lot about Minecraft in a week. I learned that you can kill other players with a sword and you can spawn Herobrine. Another thing I learned is that you can tame wolves to get a dog. If you're interested in Minecraft then this is the book for you, before you've finished you will become an expert player. Read it over the holidays!

Demon Dentist by David Walliams

I like this book because it is very funny, for example when Gabz shouts out "Give the old fart a break". It's also scary with a lot of made up words but mainly jaw–achingly funny. There is nothing you could do to improve this book, read it over the summer!
5/5 stars

Dinosaur Cove by Rex Stone

The book I would like you to read over the summer is Dinosaur Cove by Rex Stone. I really enjoyed this book because it has lots of fab dinosaurs with a fact file about each one before the story begins.

Minecraft 2014 Annual by Egmont Uk Ltd

Before reading this I thought that I would find out about new updates, however, I found out that they were not in this book. But I could find out lots of other information and the book was 100% brilliant. I learned how to build cool and fun things and how to survive on survival mode. This book is awesome and I would like to rate it 10 out of 5 (if I could), I want everyone to read this book!!!!!

You're a Bad Man Mr Gum! by Andy Stanton

I like this book for several reasons, firstly because it's funny especially when Mr Gum is staring at a newspaper and trips over a rock. Secondly, I like that it is long because at the end the author tells us to stop reading on page 160 even though there are more pages. Thirdly, its blurb is short, snappy and tells you what you need to know before you read the story. However, I did not like the picture of the dog's special gift (poo!). To sum up I think people should read this over the summer holidays because it is a great read.

Tom Gates is Absolutely Fantastic (at some things) by Liz Pichon

I like this book for several reasons, firstly because it is funny. For example when he said Mr Fullerman really does have the most enormous big beady eyes! Secondly, Tom uses wonderful words to describe things. Finally, the pictures in this book make it easier to read and make it look very creative. Everyone should read this book over the summer.

Tom Gates Genius Ideas (Mostly) by Liz Pichon

I like this book for several reasons, firstly it's very funny. Secondly, pictures are used for parts of the sentences; this makes it easier to read but also makes it more interesting to look at. Thirdly, Tom uses amazing adjectives. To sum up I think this book is suitable for ages 7 to 10 years and would give it 5/ 5 stars.

Earth-shattering Earthquakes (Horrible Geography) by Anita Ganeri

Before I read this book I thought that it was a story book, however, I soon realised that it was non-fiction. It had lots of information on how to save yourself in an earthquake: you have to drop, cover, hold. I also learned that it's very dangerous to be in a flat during an earthquake because if you're very high you can fall down. Another thing I learned is that when you're in a car during an earthquake it is safer to stay in it. The best thing about this book is that it has lots of amazing facts in it.

The Pirates Eye (Stitch Head 2) by Guy Bass

I like this book for several reasons, firstly it's really funny, particularly when he knocks glass cups over. Secondly parts of it made me laugh because he had really cool hair. Finally, Stitch Head is really cute even with different eyes. However I did not like the Octomonster part because it was pretty weird. Lots of people should read this, it's amazing! 5/5 stars

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne

I read this book as part of a school promotion to read 'classic' books. Although it was published in 1870 I really enjoyed reading it. There are several reasons for this, firstly it was very exciting and included a mysterious sea monster, a big storm and was set in a submarine. I could feel the fear of the characters as the events unfolded. Secondly, the main character was Captain Nemo (this is Latin for no-one), he was very masculine and made me wish I was the Captain of my own ship. Thirdly, it is written using very descriptive language. When reading this book the author interests you and you can imagine the scenes and the story unfolding. the events and places visited are very clear to see. Although this book is the longest I have ever read (256 pages and no pictures) it was very enjoyable and I will read it again. To sum up I think this would be a fantastic summer holiday read and would give it 5/5 stars.

The Puppy Who was Left Behind by Holly Webb

I would recommend you read his book during the holidays because it is about a puppy called Fred who goes on holiday to his owners Grandparent's boat. But when he gets there he is scared of the Grandparent's dog Sunny and ends up running away. I really like the descriptions for example when Fred licks milk off his nose. I also like the pictures. This is such a good book that I would give it 5/5 stars.
