Iron Witch by Karen Mahoney – review

nellie999: 'I really enjoyed this book and I liked how the story took you into two worlds: Donna's and the wood elves'

Donna is a freak, a weirdo and an outcast. Donna's father died saving her life from the wood elves and her mother driven mad. Her own life–threatening injuries were fixed by the magical order of the alchemists, resulting in iron tattoos covering her hands and arms. From then on Donna has been living with her aunt and any dreams of a normal life forever shattered. The only thing close to normal is her best friend Navin Sharma.

When she goes to visit Maker, the old alchemist that fixed her arms, something is wrong. Donna finds a wood elf in his workshop and, what's worse; Navin follows her and sees it. But, when he is taken Donna knows she has to get him back. With the help of Xan, a handsome half fey boy who has also been on the wrong side of the elves, Donna must rescue Navin. Together they must journey into the elves' territory and find something so powerful it could change the fey world forever. Donna knows that she is going against everything she has ever been taught but she can't leave Navin to the wood elves.

I really enjoyed this book and I liked how the story took you into two worlds: Donna's and the wood elves'. I like how Xan and Donna both knew about the fey and that Donna wasn't the only one with history with the wood elves. This was a good book, 6/10 stars.
