Ink Blot

I Predict a Riot by Catherine Bruton – review

Ink Blot: 'Maggie meets Tokes and Little Pea and gets hurled into the middle of a war between the Starfish gang and the police'

This fast-paced book is set in a futuristic world were gangs run riot around the streets of London. It follows the story of the young girl, Maggie, who feels the urge to film everything. Yet she's about to find out that just because you're behind a camera, it doesn't make you safe, when she meets Tokes and Little Pea and gets hurled into the middle of a war between the Starfish gang and the police. As citizens run riot and violence builds, Maggie races to finish her film before it's too late.
This book was very interesting and had you hooked from the first page. The plot and the characters were very detailed and complex and something was always going on. I would recommend this book to young teenagers because it deals with a lot of issues like racism and gang war and is action-packed.
