The Pirates! in an Adventure with Scientists by Gideon Defoe – review

roro_loves_books: 'I recommend this book to scientist lovers and pirate lovers'

I liked this book because there were footnotes at the bottom of the page including real scientific facts and facts about scientists. Even though this book was based on real scientists the author took out all of the things they really did and instead put in extremely funny things about them that they did!

The funniest bit about The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists was when all of the men pirates dressed up as ladies to go to a ladies circus of freaks!

Another funny part was when the pirates thought the Beagle held lots of gold even though it was full of scientists! Because of this the pirate crew ended up in adventure involving the Bishop of Oxford and mysterious deaths.

This story had lots of cliff-hangers especially when some of the characters were tied up inside Big Ben and needed rescuing. I didn't the like starts of the chapters because they were not informative enough. Due to this I give it 8 /10.

I recommend this book to scientist lovers and pirate lovers aged between 7 and 12.
