What birthday present can I get for my son to prove to him that reading isn’t old hat?

For non-readers, it seems to me that the important thing is to get to those great stories in one way or another.

My son is really into new technology. Is there anything really whizzy I can get him for his 14th birthday that would show him reading isn't old hat? I thought about a Kindle, but I can't see him buying books for it.

I'm passionate about electronic reading. The only thing is that, as
yet, the ebook is only the same book read on a different platform. For non-readers, it seems to me that the important thing is to get to those great stories in one way or another. Audiobooks, film, theatre – all of these give access to what your son may miss if he doesn't read.
