Love rat and nanny-shocker Sven-Goran Eriksson may leave his current sweetheart after all, by dumping the Football Association and returning to his old flame Lazio after the World Cup.

Lazio, who won seven trophies under Svennis, have always been the England manager's first love, and the combination of partner Nancy Dell'Olio's wish to return to Italy and Lazio president Sergio Cragnotti's visit to England tomorrow has got tongues wagging. Where that leaves attention-seeking Ulrika is anybody's guess.

Leading Sven-o-phile Jeff Powell should not worry, however, as Eriksson's agent Athole Still has put the nation's hearts at ease. "In the conversations I have had with Sven over the last few days, I have had no discussions whatsoever of that nature," said Still. "Sven is committed to England. I can also tell you there have been no approaches made by any European clubs." Which is bad news for Nancy.

Gary Megson's future at West Brom is also uncertain, and the triumphant manager may leave the Hawthorns after leading them to the top-fight for the first time since 1986. Megson is unhappy at the amount of money made available by his chairman Paul Thompson. "There are big decisions to be made at this club," said Megson after clinching promotion yesterday. "It's too early to talk at the moment, but things certainly need to be done differently at this club."

Graham Taylor has certainly adopted a different approach at Aston Villa, winning just one of his first 11 games in charge, and may soon have to cope without Lee Hendrie, who is unhappy at losing his place to Thomas Hitzlsperger. "If I am not playing, then perhaps it might be best for all parties if I move on," said the England midfielder.

Another angry manager is Wimbledon boss Terry Burton, who has threatened to leave the Dons unless the club find a new home. "I'm in my last year here now and I'm not sure what the future holds," said Burton. "There are a lot of positive things at this club, but also some negative ones."

But not as angry as Fulham chairman Mohammad Al Fayed, who is considering legal action following newspaper reports that he was planning to replace manager Jean Tigana with Ruud Gullit. "The reports are scandalous and we haven't ruled out the possibility of taking legal action," said a Fulham spokesman. "I can say quite categorically that these rumours are complete and utter rubbish. The chairman is livid."

Leeds United are chasing Uruguayan left-back Dario Rodriguez, which could hasten Ian Harte's departure from Elland Road. Penarol want £2.5 m for the 27-year-old's services.

No amount of money could buy you Premiership top-scorer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who has pledged his future to Chelsea. "I am really happy at the club and I will definitely stay until the end of my career," said the Dutch striker. "I will make this guarantee to the fans that by the time it come around for me to retire, Chelsea will have won the Premiership title and will have reached the Champions League." He could be playing for a long time.
