Warner Brothers confirmed yesterday that the movie has taken more than $500m (£344m) outside the US. With an international weekend haul of $30.15m (£20.8m) and a worldwide running total of $811m (£559m), Christopher Columbus's adaptation continued its rapid rise to box office glory.
