Eight amazing authors, eight groundbreaking books, and one fabulous young critics competition. If you’re 18 or under and haven’t entered yet all you have to do is read and review ONE of our longlisted books (and they are all brilliant). The deadline is 30 October so you still have time to enter!
If you are one of the 10 individual young critics winners or part of a book group win, you will receive all the longlisted books (x10 if you’re the group winners), book tokens and an invitation to our star studded literary party on 19 November 2015 here at Guardian towers. We’re having a festival theme and you’ll get a chance to meet some of your favourite authors. So what are you waiting for?
Here are the books:
My Name’s Not Friday, by Jon Walter (David Fickling Books)
Apple and Rain, Sarah Crossan (Bloomsbury)
A Song for Ella Grey by David Almond (Hodder)
Five Children on the Western Front by Kate Saunders (Faber)
El Deafo, by Cece Bell (Amulet)
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven (Penguin Books)
The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge (Macmillan)
An Island of our Own by Sally Nicholls (Scholastic)
And then you need to send us your review. The entry forms for individuals and group entries are here including all the Ts and Cs. If you have any problems sending your review then you can also email it to childrensfictionprize@theguardian.com, making sure to include your name, age, contact details of parents etc.
Happy reading and reviewing! If you have any questions about entering email childrensfictionprize@theguardian.com.
We’ll be announcing the shortlist of four books on November 2. And the winner will be announced at the party on November 19 – will you be there to see it happen?
