Aleks Krotoski meets Eli Horowitz to find out how tech can help reinvent the novel

This week on Tech Weekly with Aleks Krotoski we hear from Eli Horowitz who along with co-author Kevin Moffett created a digital incarnation of a novel titled The Silent History. The work was created specifically for iPhone and iPad and uses the app to geo-locate the narrative in New York.

Also Aleks is joined by Guardian technology editor Charles Arthur and Guardian technology reporter Alex Hern to discuss some of this week's big news stories including the first Bitcoin ransom paid by the US police, Tim Berners-Lee on why government surveillance is undermining public confidence in the web and Google win's an important legal battle with the Authors Guild in the US over its scanning and archiving of books.
