Michael Morpurgo, Rick Riordan and Sophie McKenzie are among the authors in the running for the only book award that is solely selected and voted for by children themselves.
The Red House children's book award has been running for 31 years and has a good track record for picking great authors. It was the first award to recognise JK Rowling, and other winners have included Jacqueline Wilson, Roald Dahl, Quentin Blake, Malorie Blackman, Andy Stanton and Michael Morpurgo
Have a look at the shortlists below, and go to the Red House website to vote for your choice of winner.
Be quick! Voting closes on Saturday (21 May). The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Birmingham on 11 June.
