Jake Jones is an ordinary boy until the day he finds out that his parents are missing; missing in history. They could be in any place, at any time.

Jake is taken away to the History Keepers Headquarters (a secret society which travels through time to prevent evil enemies from changing history) and he discovers that the Jones's are a very well known family.

Jake makes many new friends but when he finds out that they are all set to go off on a quest, he wants to go with them. But he is not allowed to go. Against everyone's wishes, he sneaks off with his friends, but as he is unaccustomed to the ways of time travelling, his life is in danger. Will he survive? Or will his parents be stuck in history for ever?
