This wonderful book touches the heart of the reader, no matter how many times it is read. It is the sequel to the now major motion film War Horse, and I think it is just as good. Grandpa or Albert's son, still lives on his Devon farm. Every holiday, his grandson visits him and they always have a great time together. Grandpa always tells his grandson stories of his father, Joey and his life but there is still one thing that Grandpa has still not told him; a deep, dark secret.

This is a fantastic, amazing, excellent book! The lovely countryside setting is a perfect place for the story. I think that it is a good ending to the story of Joey and Corporal. Furthermore, the relationship between the grandson and Grandpa is so touching and realistic. Michael Morpurgo has certainly struck a century with this book.

I would however like to point out two things that I thought were a little strange. One, the name of the grandson is never told. Two, there is a slight difference in the story of getting Joey back between both books. Otherwise, I think that this is a book that everyone "has to read".
