Radiance by Alyson Noel – review

DavidTennantFan23: 'I would recommend this book to anyone aged 10+ who likes slightly mysterious, gripping, moving stories'

Radiance is a brilliant imaginative novel that takes you on a journey through the mysterous place 'Here and Now' - a place which many people call heaven or the afterlife.

When Riley Bloom, the main character in the story, is killed in a car accident, she walks over a mysterious bridge (with her dog, Buttercup, and her parents). She finds out that this is the afterlife, and is soon assigned a job as a 'Soul Catcher', with a weird yet cute boy as her guide.

However, her first assignment wiill take her back to Earth, to find the Radiant boy - a long-lost ghost who dosen't want to go... Can Riley pursuade him to come to the 'Here and Now'?

I would recommend this book to anyone aged 10+ who likes slightly mysterious, gripping, moving stories. I have also read Shimmer, the next book in the series, and I am in the process of reading Dreamland, the third brilliant book in the series. I would really recommend it!
