Hayden Christensen, aka Darth Vader in the forthcoming Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, will play Lorenzo in the film adaptation of Boccaccio's Decameron. He will play opposite Mischa Barton, best known as Marissa in The O.C. TV series, who signed up to play Pampinea in December. The Decameron will be written and directed by Brit David Leland, who previously penned Mona Lisa Smile. It will be financed by legendary producer Dino de Laurentiis and Martha de Laurentiis, his wife. Filming is due to start in April in Rome and Tuscany.

Breakfast at Tiffany's' Holly Golightly has been voted the most stylish character of all time, according to 4,000 readers of What To Wear magazine. Uma Thurman's turn as a brunette in Pulp Fiction came second, followed by Cameron Diaz in Charlie's Angels. In the "dressed as a sack" category, Muriel Heslop's polyester Abba suites in Muriel's Wedding comes on top, with Bridget Jones' granny knickers in second place. At third is Dirty Dancing's Baby and her pink debutante dress.

A British and two French inventors have received an Oscar for creating the Louma, a remote-controlled camera fixed on a crane. The Academy's scientific and technical awards, which were handed out on Saturday night in Los Angeles, recognise technical developments in the cinema industry.
