This book was OK, but not the best. It was quite an entertaining read, but it was rather predictable.
The book follows Carmen Bell, who has an ambition to become a rock star. But she really doesn't like two things: 1) Her body, 2) Marigold Johnson (her arch enemy).
The day she hears about the school talent competition, 'Top Spot', Carmen writes a song, and gets her outfit ready.
But then, Marigold just has to go and ruin everything, calling her a fat freak and causing Carmen to bunk off school, which ruins her determination and courage.
Will she make it despite this? I would rate this book 11+, for girls, and three stars.
