This book was OK, but not the best. It was quite an entertaining read, but rather predictable. This book is about a girl called Carmen Bell, who has an ambition to become a rock star. But she really hates two things. 1) Her body 2) Marigold Johnson.

The day she heard about the school talent competition, 'Top Spot', she wrote a song, and got her outfit ready, but then, Marigold, just has to go and ruin everything by calling her a 'fat freak' causing Carmen to bunk off of school, ruining her courage and determination. Will she make it?
