Sophie is the main character and she is determined to find her mother. She is the heroine of the story. Sophie was rescued from a boat that was sinking by Charles Maxim. She was taken back to London by Charles where they lived happily until Miss Eliot came and tried to take away Sophie.

Miss Eliot is the villain of this story and tries to take Sophie away from Charles because she doesn't think he is a good parent.

Matteo, a boy who lives on the rooftops of Paris, he helps Sophie try to find her mother and becomes Sophie's best friend.

I would recommend this book for 8 years or over and would tell everyone to read this book, it is amazing!
