The Lottie Project by Jacqueline Wilson – review

I have recently read The Lottie Project by Jacqueline Wilson!

In this book a girl called Charlie (Charlotte) goes into a new class and as a class project must write a long piece of writing about Victorians.

At first she thinks it is boring, but she comes to like it more and more. She writes a diary about a girl called Lottie (Charlotte) and bases it on her real life experiences. For example, Charlie's mum Jo (Josephine) babysits a child and he goes missing, so in Lottie's diary one of Lottie's mistress's children go missing. She works as a servant you see, to help her mother.

Charlie also has a job but she only gets 10p a week for reading to an elderly lady. She loves baking and in the book she bakes lots of cakes. I like Charlie but I do think her catchphrase 'easy peasy, simple pimple' is a bit weird!.

Altogether I loved the book and was drawn in by the very first sentence. I strongly recommend this book to any fans of Jacqueline Wilson.
