This book is set in Victorian London and is based around the life of a ginger-haired boy named Ben Kingdom. He lives with his dad and brother in a house shared with many other different families and individuals.

After his father picks up a strange coin from a mad man down at the docks, Ben finds himself immediately in the middle of a war that has been ongoing for countless years. After teaming up with the wrong side, the ones who Ben believes are good but are actually super evil, and understanding his bad decision, he realises that everyone is not who they seem.

I would definitely recommend reading this book, especially if you're looking for a fun little read that you would want to continue and not spend much time on it (that is, if you're a dedicated reader like moi).

For ages around 8 to 12, this book is beautifully written and has a steampunk feel about it.
