Box of tricks is really a very good book. I gather that it is a series, but even without reading the first three, I still found it a thoroughly enjoyable book.

At first glance, it seemed like it was going to be a book very much like Harry Potter. Once I had got further into it, I realised that although it was similar, the author had made it very different, though I liked it just as much! This is a great book for girls aged 9-13. I would give Box of Tricks four out of five stars.
