Alcatraz Versus the Scrivener’s Bones by Brandon Sanderson – review

Pansybee: The concept is a great idea, but the story is too hard to follow

Alcatraz Versus the Scrivener's Bones by Brandon Sanderson is a good book, but it's not great and I wouldn't recommend it.

The chopping and changing at the beginning of chapters is supposed to keep the reader gripped but instead, it just makes it harder to get into because it deters from the good action parts of the book.

The idea of evil librarians and everything people know being a lie is a clever idea, but all the other little add on's have made this book hard to follow. Instead of making the reader active it just makes the reader confused trying to remember all the little bits.

The style of how it is written is easy to access and easy to understand. Brandon Sanderson has put a lot of effort in trying to create this world, but there are too many things to remember.

The concept is a great idea, but the story is too hard to follow making the reader muddled, if Sanderson had had not so many things in his world, this book would have been great.
