A fantastic book. There's a brilliant mixture of veterinary knowledge, romantic comedy, comedy in general, and equally tragedy. The animals are portrayed fantastically, with loads of detail going into the descriptions of the operations he performs on the animals.

There are a few sad bits, where animals die, have to be put down, and incredibly detailed bits about castrations, which I personally didn't mind because it's something that I knew vets had to do.

The romance between Luke, Cordelia, the relationships between all the people in the story and the funny parts too have been told wonderfully, leaving me wanting to keep on reading.

I recommend it to anyone who loves a good animal story, who is interested in veterinary practices or who generally wants a good book.
