Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter – review

Tjala: 'I will finish the series as I like the storylines and the writing style but won't rave about how fantastic this book is'

This was the second instalment in the Heist Society and, having read both series written by Ally Carter (Gallagher Girls and Heist Society), I much prefer this series.

However, I was disappointed at the predictability of the book and I find that Ally Carter's books follow the same writing pattern. So it's easy to guess what will happen next. I also find her writing a little simplistic so that could make the book a little boring at times.

Despite this, I still read the book quickly and did enjoy it but not as much as the first. I definitely liked the story idea but I think it could have been edited further to give more detail in certain places where things only just made sense.

I didn't really like the way that the book characters were indestructible, flawless and overconfident, especially Kat: she could hardly bring herself to admit that she had actually for once been wrong about something, and slipped up, whereas in real life everybody makes mistakes on a regular basis.

I will finish the series as I like the storylines and the writing style but I won't rave about how fantastic this book is as I would with some.
