Angel Cake by Cathy Cassidy – review

Pinnochia: 'This book makes you feel like one of the characters - depending on who you are you will feel like a different character'

Angel Cake is about a girl called Anya who leaves her home in Poland for Liverpool. Anya has dreamed of living in Britain with its red brick houses and roses at the door. But when her dream finally comes true her hopes are not high when her dream house is nothing more than a five room apartment with peeling wall paper. When finally she starts to fit in she meets a boy, a bad boy. As her life falls apart she feels terrible unless she is with bad boy Dan.

When I stuck my head in the book I could not get it out, it was too good. I could tell it was written from the heart. It is not a book that was just "written", it was inspired by someone and something real. The book has a message, a meaning. This book makes you feel like one of the characters - depending on who you are you will feel like a different character. I think this book is ideal for girls who are moving to a new country that have a dream that just won't come true. But anyone can read and enjoy it.
