What to do in half term: Visit Seven Stories in Newcastle

Take a trip to Seven Stories, the national centre for children's books, in Newcastle upon Tyne for some wild fun this half term! Into the Jungle Week is full of events for adults and children. Daily activities include storytelling at 11:30am and 2pm, and face-painting takes place all Friday, at £1 a face!

There are also two days of special events with illustrator Anthony Browne, whose exhibition has month left to run. So, if you haven't managed to catch it yet, now's the perfect chance:

On Friday, Anthony will be running an all-day masterclass for aspiring artists aged 15 or over. Learn about how professional illustration techniques and processes in what is sure to be a fascinating and illuminating day.

On Saturday afternoon from 2-3.30pm, Anthony invites younger children to "step through" the magic mirror with him into the world of Willy the Wimp and Little Beauty. Audience participation is a must, with storytelling and drawing!

So prowl on over to Seven Stories in Lime Street, Newcastle, and have a roaringly fun time.
