Friends, Americans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to mourn Obama, not to praise him. The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft dispersed with their fall; So let it be with America. The noble McCain Hath told you Obama was ambitious: If it were so, it was a grievous fault, And grievously hath Obama answer'd it. Here, under leave of McCain and the rest-- For McCain is an honourable man; So are they all, all honourable men-- Come I to speak Obama's concession. He was my choice, faithful and just to me: But McCain says he was ambitious; And McCain is an honourable man. He hath brought many, newly, to the franchise Whose votes did the Obama courters seek: Did this in Obama seem ambitious? Who dare not scorn a man of such honour And who pretendeth such boldness as to resist.
