Lifestyle guru and personal aide to Cherie Blair, Carole Caplin, last night dismissed claims she planned to reveal secrets about the lives of the Blairs in a tell-all book now that her friendship with the prime minister and his wife seems to have waned.
The statement was issued by Ms Caplin's lawyers hours after she was dumped by her own PR agent, Ian Monk, following differences over how the press came to be briefed about her life.
Ms Caplin hit the headlines once again in recent days with reports that she has had her No 10 security pass taken from her, feels threatened by people prying into her affairs and plans to write a book about her time with the Blairs.
But London-based solicitors Schillings, said Ms Caplin had no intention of disclosing confidential information about the Blair family. It said she has no (nor ever has had any) intention of writing a book, newspaper articles or otherwise disclosing, for payment, anything about her relationship with the prime minister and Mrs Blair.
However, Ms Caplin has been reported as accepting that she will no longer have an "intimate" role with Mrs Blair, visiting her at home, but will continue to see her friend away from No 10 or Chequers.
Although she continues to train Cherie with regular fitness sessions at the gym, her relationship with Mr Blair and his wife has all but crumbled after blunders which have embarrassed the Blairs.
Last year her relationship with Australian conman Peter Foster embarrassed the Blairs, in a episode dubbed Cheriegate, when he became involved in the purchase of property in Bristol for their eldest son, Euan, who is a student in the city.
The friendship between the two women suffered a blow in February when the BBC broadcast a fly-on-the-wall documentary from Ms Caplin's flat during the Cheriegate crisis.
More recently she upset Cherie with a spread in Hello! magazine, for which she was paid £20,000, where she talked about their relationship.
There were further problems after an article appeared in Marie Claire magazine which showed Ms Caplin applying lipliner to Cherie's lips while the pair sat on the Blair's bed.
The Blairs were reportedly warned that Ms Caplin was becoming too close, as both a friend and an employee, but until now the couple had stood by the lifestyle guru.
